In the Clutches of Possession | True Horror Story

True Horror Story | Ömer’s affliction (musallat), terrifying dreams, and the spiritual battle he endures with the help of the mysterious Master Emin at his workplace. A story of salvation and secrets.

Hello, I’m Ömer Gümüş. I want to share an incident that happened to me about two years ago. I had a stable profession. If you ask what I did, I worked at a textile company. I liked my job, and my salary was quite good. I was generally well-liked at work, known for being cheerful and friendly. I was saved from the Musallat (affliction/possession) incident that befell me thanks to Master Emin, who suddenly entered my life. Now, let’s get to how it started.

Exactly two years ago, one morning on my way to work, I felt a strange sensation. I can’t quite describe it – maybe a momentary feeling of falling, or a slight electric shock? It turned out that feeling was the harbinger of the Musallat. Why the Musallat happened remains a mystery.

That day, a new foreman was brought to the workplace. His name was Emin. He was a very humble and kind-faced older man. Within a few days, we got acquainted and bonded. He was a very articulate person, enjoyed discussing Islamic topics, and was devoted to his religion. Around this time, I started experiencing strange moods. I had terrifying nightmares at night and hallucinations during the day. He constantly told me to pray, saying, “Those who don’t pray have no place in the hereafter.” However, I was a spoiled person who didn’t care much about sin or reward, chased after girls, and hurt people with cruel remarks. But Master Emin told such convincing and cautionary tales that I decided to mend my ways.

I wanted to start praying. However, whenever I tried to recite prayers (dua) and chapters (surah), I felt as if my internal organs were being torn apart, and I couldn’t continue. One day, I finished my shift and went home. Since I was very tired that day, I immediately threw myself into bed to sleep. Around 2-3 AM, I woke up drenched in sweat. I sat up in bed, looked left and right, and lay back down. I tried to sleep, but it was futile; I couldn’t get the nightmare I had seen out of my mind.

In my dream, I was on a street. A child held my right hand, and another held my left, leading me into the depths of darkness. Then, suddenly, as if teleported, we arrived at a place. This place was very different from any place in worldly life. The surroundings were a strange mix of red and black. There was a cauldron in the middle, and dozens of people were dancing around it. At their head was an incredibly ugly creature, acting like their leader, barking orders. Despite being about 20 meters away, it saw me and reached my side in less than a second. It told me, “Join us, be with us!” Then it brought a beautiful woman before me and spoke again: “Commit adultery with her and join us!” I tried to control myself and looked away. From my left, someone started whispering close to my ear: “Look at her, don’t miss this beauty!” From that moment on, I lost control and committed adultery with that woman. After thinking about this nightmare for a long time, I fell asleep again.

I woke up in the morning and set off for work. I wanted to tell Foreman Emin Abi about this dream, but I didn’t know how. When I arrived at work, Emin Abi was staring intently at me. As I wondered why he was looking at me like that, he came up to me and confronted me, saying, “Why did you do it?” “What is he talking about?” I asked myself, but thinking, “How could he know?” I pretended not to understand. He just told me, “Pray your prayers,” and walked away. I wanted to go and tell him several times but couldn’t.

After this dream, I couldn’t sleep properly for two months. Whenever I slept, I had this dream. Every morning I woke up tired and slept at work. When complaints came from work about my declining performance, I had to tell my mother about the situation. My mother read prayers over me, placed a small Quran under my pillow, and told me to read prayers every night before sleeping.

One morning, when I arrived at work, the Foreman came up to me and scolded me, saying, “These dreams will end soon. You don’t put the Quran under the pillow, remove it.” I was embarrassed, but a question lingered in my mind: How does this man know these things? Had he spoken to my mother? Was he following me? I became anxious. When I went home that evening, I brought up the subject with my mother. I didn’t get the answer I wanted. My mother said she hadn’t told anyone about this but suggested it might be good for us to see a hodja (religious scholar). Really strange things were happening. At night, Master Emin’s words came to my mind, and I removed the Quran from under my pillow.

But this time when I slept, I had a different dream than usual: I was waiting at a bus stop in the city center. The people around were looking at me strangely. Wherever I turned my head, wherever I saw a person, their eyes were on me. The uncle walking past me, the aunt looking from the window of the opposite building, the man getting a shave at the barber shop below the building, and the barber… All their eyes were scrutinizing me uncomfortably when the bus arrived. When I got on the bus, I realized I was the only passenger. Strange things were happening. I wanted to get off, but the conductor grabbed my arm and insisted, “Come inside.” I couldn’t say anything and went to the back seat, watching the driver and the conductor. Occasionally, both turned their heads simultaneously to look at me, but the last time they turned, I felt like my heart would jump out of my chest. Because this time, they had turned their heads 180 degrees without turning their bodies! At that moment, my eyes caught the conductor’s feet; his feet were backward!

It being a dream, I broke the bus window, threw myself onto the road, rolled a bit, then got up and started running. I stopped for a moment and looked back. Oh my God! Both of them were right behind me! I started running again. Shouting “They’re after me!” I threw myself into the crowd. All the people I passed pointed at me, saying “He’s here!” It was as if everyone was in their service. Pushing through the crowd, I entered a street. It didn’t take long to realize it was a dead end. When I turned back again, they were right in front of me. They started laughing hideously and saying, “Surrender yourself to us, join us!” There was nothing left I could do. I collapsed onto my knees where I stood.

At that moment, something completely unexpected happened. Both of them suddenly fell silent and started looking behind me. Unable to understand what was happening, I turned around too. In front of me was a luminous being dressed in white. I couldn’t make out its face because of the white light it emitted. It walked slowly, came in front of me, and started reciting prayers. Those two beings were frozen, unable to move as if nailed to the ground. The luminous being began to speak: “You cursed beings! Don’t you know that Allah, may His glory be exalted, is always on the side of the oppressed? What you do only leads you to eternal hell like your ancestor. Now I give you one last chance: Know your place, convert to Islam, and save both your eternal and mortal lives,” it said. In response to these words, they started hurling insults. As the luminous being recited prayers, they began to weaken. It went to them, drew a circle around them, and said, “A Muslim fears only Allah, may His glory be exalted; I am not afraid of you. Give up your stubbornness, convert to Islam, and let your suffering end. Otherwise, with Allah’s permission, I will burn you both!”

After a few minutes of silence, one of them stepped forward and said, “I want to convert to Islam.” Hearing this, the other being jumped on him, and they started fighting. “You cannot betray our ancestor! You cannot betray our race!” it cursed. Unfortunately, the one who wanted to convert turned into smoke and disappeared. The evil being continued to shout threats: “We will never be one with humans! We have sworn to make you live through hell! Fear us so that you serve our ancestor!” The luminous being understood that this ifrit (demon) was beyond redemption. When it started reciting prayers again, the ifrit began to writhe within the circle. Screaming in agony, it looked for an escape but kept hitting an invisible wall around the circle. Finally, it turned into black smoke and slowly disappeared, at which point I woke up.

I hadn’t felt so refreshed and well-rested in a long time. When I got up and went to work, I met Emin Abi outside the building. He told me he had resigned from his job, that he was going far away, and advised me not to abandon my prayers. We said goodbye and parted ways. After he had walked a little distance, he turned back and called out, “Don’t worry, he didn’t die, he passed into his contract (akdine geçti).” Who was he talking about? How could he know my dream? While I was lost in thought, he was already long gone.

When the workday began, everyone noticed the change in me. They mentioned they hadn’t seen me so energetic and cheerful in a long time. When I asked them why Foreman Emin Abi had left, they all had the same expression on their faces. They only said one thing: “Are you okay? Who is Master Emin?”
