Effective Prayer for Finding Lost or Stolen Items

Many prayers and methods have been recommended for finding lost or stolen items. One such prayer is said to have been revealed in a dream to Sheikh Tirmidhi and has been practiced with success. This prayer is believed to help recover lost possessions.

How to Perform the Prayer

Follow these steps to apply the prayer effectively:

1. Write the prayer on a piece of paper: Inscribe the prayer onto paper.
2. Write the lost item’s name in all four corners: Note the name of the lost object at each corner of the paper.
3. Place the paper under a heavy object: Position the written prayer beneath a heavy object in your home or location.
4. Pray sincerely and wholeheartedly: Approach the prayer with true belief and sincerity.

It is narrated that when this method is followed, the lost item is surely recovered. The key is to recite the prayer with conviction and without distraction.

Prayer for Recovering Lost or Stolen Items

Arabic Text:

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ شَاهِدِينَ وَأَرَدُّ الْجُهَّادَ مَعَ الْجَاهِدِينَ وَأَعَدَّهَا الْيَوْمَ الدِّيْنِ أَنَّ الرَّسُوْلَ كَمَا أَرْسَلْتَ وَأَنَّ الْقُرْآنَ كَمَا أَنْزَلْتَ وَأَنَّ الْقَضَاءَ كَمَا قَدَّرْتَ وَأَنَّ السَّاعَةَ آتِيَةٌ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا وَأَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَبْعَثُ مَنْ فِي الْقُبُورِ عَلَيْهَا أَحْيَانٌ وَعَلَيْهَا أَمُوتُ بِفَضْلِكَ وَكَرَامَتِكَ يَا أَكْرَمَ الْأَكْرَمِينَ اللّٰهُمَّ اُرْدُدْ ضَالَّتِي فُلَانٌ بِحَقِّ هَذَا بِالْعَجَلِ الْوَحَا الْوَحَا الْعَجَلَ الْعَجَلَ السَّاعَةَ السَّاعَةَ.

Transliteration:

Bismillāhir-raḥmānir-raḥīmi wa anā ashhadu shāhidīna wa araddu al-juhāda maʿa al-jāhidīna wa aʿaddahā al-yawmid dīni anna ar-rasūla kamā arsalta wa anna al-qur’āna kamā anzalta wa anna al-qaḍā’a kamā qaddarta wa anna as-sāʿata ātiyatun lā rayba fīhā wa annallāha yabʿathu man fī al-qubūri ʿalayhā aḥyāna wa ʿalayhā amūtu bifaḍlika wa karāmika yā akramal akramīna, allāhumma urdud ḍālattī fulān bihaqqi hādhā bil ʿajali al-wahā al-wahā al-ʿajala al-ʿajala as-sāʿata as-sāʿata.

English Meaning:

“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. I bear witness with those who bear witness, and I struggle with those who struggle for His cause. I acknowledge the Day of Judgment as truth. Just as You sent the Messenger, just as You revealed the Quran, just as You ordained destiny, and just as the Hour will undoubtedly come, I believe with certainty. Surely, Allah will resurrect those in the graves. O Most Generous of the Generous! By Your grace and honor, return my lost possession to me! By the truth of this prayer, hasten its return, hasten its return! The Hour, the Hour!”
