Prayer for Setting Out on a Journey

Arabic Text:

اللَّهُمَّ يَا سَلاَمُ يَا سَلاَمُ يَا سَلاَمُ سَلِّمْنِي مِنْ جَمِيعِ آفَاتِ السَّفَرِ بِحَقِّ اسْمِكَ الْعَظِيمِ

يَا سَلاَمُ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ

سَلَامٌ قَوْلًا مِنْ رَبٍّ رَحِيمٍ

Transliteration:

Allahümme yâ selâmü yâ selâmü yâ selâmü sellimnî min cemî’î âfâtis seferi bihakkı ismikel azîm.

Yâ selâmü bismillâhirrahmânirrahîm.

Bismillâhillezî lâ yedurru measmihî şey’ün fil ardı ve lâ fis semâi ve hüves semî’ul alîm ve hüvel aliyyül azîm.

Selâmün kavlen min rabbin rahîm.

Meaning:

“O Allah! O Source of Peace! O Source of Peace! O Source of Peace! Protect me from all the afflictions of travel by the virtue of Your Great Name. O Source of Peace, in the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful… In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. He is the Most High, the Most Great. A word of peace from a Merciful Lord.”
