Arabic Text of the Prayer
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْبَلَاءِ وَالشَّقَاءِ وَالسُّوءِ وَالْفَسَادِ وَالْفِتْنَةِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
سَلَامٌ قَوْلًا مِنْ رَبٍّ رَحِيمٍ سَلَامٌ عَلَى نُوحٍ فِي الْعَالَمِينَ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ سَلَامٌ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ سَلَامٌ عَلَى مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ سَلَامٌ عَلَى إِلْيَاسِينَ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَسَلَامٌ عَلَى الْمُرْسَلِينَ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ
Transliteration of the Prayer
Bismillāhir-raḥmānir-raḥīm.
Salāmun qawlan min rabbir-raḥīm.
Salāmun ‘alā Nūḥin fil-‘ālamīn.
Innā kadhālika najzil-muḥsinīn.
Innahu min ‘ibādināl-mu’minīn.
Salāmun ‘alā Ibrāhīm.
Kadhālika najzil-muḥsinīn.
Innahu min ‘ibādināl-mu’minīn.
Salāmun ‘alā Mūsā wa Hārūn.
Innā kadhālika najzil-muḥsinīn.
Innahumā min ‘ibādināl-mu’minīn.
Salāmun ‘alā Ilyāsīn.
Innā kadhālika najzil-muḥsinīn.
Innahu min ‘ibādināl-mu’minīn.
Wa salāmun ‘alal-mursalīn.
Wal-ḥamdu lillāhi rabbil-‘ālamīn.
Salāmun hiya ḥattā maṭla‘il-fajr.
Meaning of the Prayer
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
- “Peace! A word from a Merciful Lord.”
- “Peace be upon Noah among the worlds.”
- “Indeed, We thus reward the righteous.”
- “Indeed, he was among Our believing servants.”
- “Peace be upon Abraham.”
- “Indeed, We thus reward the righteous.”
- “Indeed, he was among Our believing servants.”
- “Peace be upon Moses and Aaron.”
- “Indeed, We thus reward the righteous.”
- “Indeed, they were among Our believing servants.”
- “Peace be upon Elias.”
- “Indeed, We thus reward the righteous.”
- “Indeed, he was among Our believing servants.”
- “And peace be upon the messengers.”
- “And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all worlds.”
- “Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.”
