Often referred to as “Reptoids,” “Dinosaur Men,” “Lizard Men,” “Draconians,” or “Saurians,” Reptilians are fundamentally described as a species of beings possessing a humanoid form but exhibiting reptilian characteristics (especially lizard-like features), intelligence, and alleged supernatural abilities.

While physical descriptions vary across sources, a general portrait can be drawn. They are often said to range in height from 2 meters (about 6.5 feet) to 2.70 meters (nearly 9 feet), with green, scaly skin. Reports mention they have three long fingers with claws at the tips and an opposable thumb, similar to humans. They are depicted with muscular legs and arms, nearly invisible ears, and one of their most distinctive features: large, sunken or slit-like eyes. Some accounts describe them as having tails, while others are tailless; reports also mention winged and wingless types, and even the presence of sexual organs. Regarding attire, it’s commonly rumored they wear very little clothing besides armor, but consistently sport a special belt that allows them to become invisible.

Beyond these physical descriptions, perhaps the most unsettling claims about Reptilians focus on their feeding habits and relationship with humanity. The theory that they feed on negative human energies (such as fear, anxiety, hatred) is quite prevalent. Furthermore, it’s alleged that some Reptilian species are truly carnivorous and view humans as a potential food source, as prey. This aspect makes the Reptilian figure even more terrifying.

Theories about their origins often point to the stars. One of the most popular theories suggests that Reptilians originated from a star system called Alpha Draconis (also known as Thuban). Although considered technologically superior to humans, their technology is thought to be less advanced compared to other hypothetical alien races in the universe. Little is known about their social structure, but the general consensus is that they are not friendly towards any other race. This solitary and potentially hostile stance reinforces their central role in conspiracy theories.

The Race at the Center of Conspiracy Theories: David Icke and Reptilian Claims

The concept of Reptilians has been frequently explored by conspiracy theory authors, especially in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. While names like Troy Martin and John Rhodes have touched upon the subject, the most influential and controversial figure to place Reptilians at the heart of a global conspiracy theory is undoubtedly David Icke. A former footballer and sports commentator, Icke, through his books and conferences since the 1990s, has propagated the idea that the world is secretly ruled by a Reptilian elite.

At the core of David Icke’s theory lies a group of shape-shifting reptilian humanoids who have been controlling the world and humanity since the depths of history. According to Icke, this group forms a secret world government, often referred to as the “Elite,” the “Illuminati,” or, in his own terminology, the “Babylonian Brotherhood.” One of the most striking and contentious claims of this theory is that world leaders, royal families, and financial giants are either descended from this Reptilian lineage or controlled by them. Icke has identified figures like US President George H.W. Bush, the British Royal Family (especially Queen Elizabeth II), and even celebrities like Kris Kristofferson as Reptilians or Reptilian hybrids.

Icke takes these claims further, linking powerful financial dynasties like the Rothschilds to the Reptilian bloodline. He even alleges that these groups manipulate not only global finance but also historical events. For instance, he suggests they financed Adolf Hitler and supported the Nazi Holocaust, while stating that the Rothschilds are not actually Jewish, but Reptilian. Such claims have led to accusations of antisemitism against Icke, though he denies these charges, insisting his criticism is directed at the secret Reptilian network, not any specific religious or ethnic group.

According to Icke’s secret government theory, this structure, funded by banking families like the Rockefellers and Rothschilds and major businessmen, rules the world from behind the scenes. He claims that major traumatic events like the rise of the Nazis, the Holocaust, the Oklahoma City bombing, and even the September 11, 2001 attacks were financed and organized by this secret government. The alleged goal is to create global chaos, keep humanity in fear and under control, and ultimately establish a totalitarian global state called the “New World Order.”

So, where is this Reptilian control managed from? In his 1999 book “The Biggest Secret” and subsequent works, Icke suggests that this control and manipulation originate not from our physical world, but from another dimension, specifically the “lower fourth dimension.” He states that this dimension is what many esoteric teachings refer to as the “lower astral plane,” a realm where dark rituals are performed, home to demons and malevolent entities.

Another key point in Icke’s theory is the Reptilians’ shape-shifting ability. According to him, Reptilians can manipulate human DNA. He claims they can shift from their reptilian form to human form, particularly when they consume human blood or perform certain rituals. This is his argument to explain how they can hold positions of power within society without being detected.

Regarding the origins of these alien-reptile-human hybrids, Icke points to the Middle East. He suggests they emerged from underground cities or caves in the mountainous regions where Turkey, Iran, and Iraq intersect, and from there, they spread across the world to seize control. He adds that this expansion has occurred repeatedly throughout various periods in history. To support these claims, he cites ancient Sumerian tablets, mythological narratives, legends, and local stories from different parts of the world about lizard-like beings inhabiting caves.

Reptilian Cave Narratives from Different Corners of the World

As fantastic as the claims of David Icke and similar theorists may seem, stories and reported incidents about reptilian beings living underground or in caves in various parts of the world serve as evidence for believers in these theories. These narratives are usually based on eyewitness accounts and, while officially unverifiable, are often passed down through generations in the regions where they are told. Among the allegedly hundreds of such incidents, three that have been documented and whose details are known stand out: one occurred in Missouri, USA, another in Black Mountain, Australia, and the last in Vietnam.

Underground Terror in the Missouri Caves

This incident is based on an alleged encounter near Carthage, Missouri, USA, on March 7, 2004, relying on the testimony of two eyewitnesses. That afternoon, the two witnesses (names usually kept confidential) were riding their ATVs (All-Terrain Vehicles) near the town, in an area known locally as “The Underground,” which served as both a public and private storage facility. This facility was actually carved out of enormous caves, formerly used as a strategic storage site for thousands of tons of dried food for the U.S. Navy. It had also been designed as an underground shelter capable of housing 40,000 people.

It was said that in this area, once used as an authorized military zone, the caves extended to a depth of about 8 miles (approximately 13 km). Entry into the abandoned military section where the witnesses ventured was actually forbidden. However, thinking no one was around, they plunged inside. While some parts of the cave walls were smooth and polished, other areas were rough, like recently blasted rock and rubble. The two witnesses continued onward without slowing down. A little further, they encountered an unusual painted pattern on the ground, which they initially thought was graffiti.

The path then began to deteriorate and took a sharp, 90-degree turn to the left. They were going very fast and thought they were going to crash into the wall. But something unexpected happened; instead of crashing, they passed through what appeared to be a transparent surface, like a holographic projection of the cave wall. Stunned, they continued onward and found themselves in an entirely new tunnel system. This new tunnel was wider and larger than the one they had just passed through. Overcome by curiosity, they decided to keep going without slowing down.

As they ventured deeper into the area, they began to notice a sharp, intensifying smell of mold and dampness. The lighting around them also changed; it was significantly darker than the other areas they had come from. They turned on their ATV headlights and felt the environment growing colder. Turning right, they proceeded towards what looked like some kind of rest area about 100 yards ahead.

Just then, one of the witnesses saw a structure ahead that he thought was a pair of fountains, and both stopped abruptly. About 30 yards away stood two living beings. One was quite tall, estimated to be around 2.5 meters (8 feet 2 inches), powerfully built, and reddish in color. The other was smaller, pale, almost albino-white, and not as bulky as the first. Both beings resembled giant reptiles.

The beings said nothing, but the witnesses were suddenly overwhelmed by an intense feeling of malevolence. One of them screamed in terror. They immediately turned their ATVs around and sped back the way they came. Looking back, they noticed the taller being watching them motionlessly. They felt certain that if this creature caught them, it would definitely harm them.

Racing forward, they passed through the wall projection again. Looking back, they saw the taller being, arm raised, continuing to pursue them. They kept speeding away. When they reached the area with the strange graffiti on the blue floor, they looked back again to see the tall reptilian. They saw the creature stop, unable to cross the strangely marked area, watch them for a moment, then turn around and walk away.

Upon reaching the cave exit, one of the witnesses immediately called the Sheriff. However, the official on the phone told them to leave the area immediately, stating that the facility’s security was not under their jurisdiction, that they would notify military security, and that the military would handle the matter. As the witnesses were leaving, they encountered vehicles belonging to military security units on the road. Military personnel stopped them, informed them that the matter was classified under national security, and threatened them with federal and military charges if they spoke about the incident to anyone. Thus, the matter was closed, at least for the time being.

Australia’s Black Mountain’s Ominous Secret: A Reptilian Lair?

Rising from the wilderness of Queensland, Australia, near Cooktown, Black Mountain presents a stark, eerie contrast to the surrounding lush eucalyptus forests and bushland. Composed of massive, black granite boulders, this mountain looks like a dark island sunk into a sea of green. It is a place long intertwined with strange and unexplained phenomena and dark folklore.

Known to the Aboriginal people as Kalkajaka (meaning “place of the spear” or more simply “mountain of death”), Black Mountain is regarded with great fear and reverence in their culture. According to their stories, the mountain is a haunted place inhabited by various evil spirits, demons, and monsters hungry for human souls. This fear runs so deep that even during periods when European settlers brutally massacred the Aboriginal people, fleeing natives would rather face death than seek refuge in the seemingly suitable caves of this mountain.

Black Mountain’s reputation extends beyond Aboriginal legends. Strange occurrences frequently reported by locals and visitors add to its mystery. Unexplained lights, unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and most significantly, numerous reports of sightings of lizard-like humanoid creatures contribute to the ominous aura of the place. Consequently, people generally avoid this foreboding location.

Those passing through the area speak of feeling hot air currents emanating from the mountain’s underground passages and numerous crevices, and hearing eerie sounds described as moans, cries, screams, drilling noises, or deep hisses coming from the depths of the caves. Furthermore, a foul, rotten smell is occasionally reported emanating from very close to the surface.

Perhaps the most famous and chilling aspect associated with Black Mountain is the number of mysterious disappearances that have occurred there. While Aboriginal people had stories of people vanishing on the mountain long before Europeans arrived, the first modern documented case of an unexplained disappearance dates back to 1877. A stockman named Greany went near the mountain searching for a lost calf. Neither the man, his horse, nor the calf were ever seen again. Searches around the mountain yielded no trace. The general assumption was that they had fallen into one of the deep crevices between the boulders.

A few years later, a notorious outlaw known as Sugarfoot Jack and several accomplices fled into Black Mountain following a shootout with police. Despite extensive police searches, their whereabouts were never discovered; they too vanished within the mountain. The disappearances continued strangely over the years. In the 1920s, two professional speleologists (cave explorers) who undertook an expedition to solve the mystery, as well as some trackers who later searched for them, also disappeared. More recently, in 1932, a journalist named Harry Page vanished during a hike on Black Mountain; his body was later found, dead from unknown causes.

The prevailing theory is that these people likely fell victim to the mountain’s countless caves, narrow gaps, or deep fissures, perhaps becoming hopelessly lost while attempting to navigate its dark, labyrinthine passages. But did these unfortunate souls simply perish alone in the mountain’s darkness, or did something more sinister befall them? Dangerous creatures, vengeful ghosts, giant snakes, UFOs, or perhaps… alien reptilians?

A potential answer to these questions may have emerged from an email received years ago by a researcher named Noel Gregor. An anonymous witness detailed their experience within the caves of Black Mountain. The witness stated they were a trained and certified geologist who had spent years studying and documenting various cave systems in different countries.

In May 2011, they decided to explore the interior of Black Mountain with a colleague. They entered through a narrow cave opening near the entrance and proceeded inwards. After traveling for a considerable time, while passing through a narrow passage they estimated to be on the eastern side of the mountain, they began hearing strange noises coming from the darkness ahead. They stopped to collect a few geological samples from the cave walls. As they chipped away rock fragments with their small hammers, they noticed the sounds again. Initially, they thought it might be echoes or reverberations of their own actions. However, the sounds began to change, becoming more distinct. They stood silently for several minutes until the sounds stopped.

Driven by curiosity, they decided to head towards the direction the sounds came from. They crawled through a passage that became progressively narrower and lower, advancing about 40 meters. Eventually, they reached a larger, open space, big enough for several people to stand comfortably. On the opposite side of this space were two wide openings (tunnel entrances), both appearing as if they had been machine-excavated. At that moment, a heavy, sharp odor, like that of decay, permeated the air.

While examining the openings, they noticed a strange, reddish substance on the rock floor. As the geologist knelt to collect a sample, they heard the sounds again, this time more clearly, emanating from one of the passages. At this point, both were terrified and decided to quickly retreat back into the narrow passage. After retreating a few meters, the geologist (the one who wrote the email), overcome by curiosity, turned their head back towards the dark area.

At that instant, they saw a faint, yellow light slowly filtering into the area from the left opening (tunnel). Following this first light, several more yellow lights appeared. Just after the lights entered the area, they saw beings walking into the space from the right opening. Witnessing this sight, the geologist froze in fear, unable to move.

The creatures they saw were human-sized but definitely not human. Although varying in height, their general appearance was the same: muscular, lizard-like beings walking upright like humans. The witness stated there was no better term to describe them. The creatures wore dark, cloak-like garments that extended down to their feet. Although their skin color couldn’t be precisely determined due to the lighting and distance, it appeared dark. However, each had a prominent snout (protruding nose and mouth area) and long, noticeable tails that swayed back and forth as they moved. Their arms and legs were quite large, and their muscular structure could be perceived beneath their clothing.

They also made sounds, as if conversing with each other. The geologist couldn’t understand the language but noted the tones were almost human-like. Approximately 20 of these creatures began to gather in the open space.

Realizing it was no longer safe to stay, the two geologists quickly started making their way out of the cave. Both were in shock, and the witness mentioned not remembering much about how they got out after that point. Once outside, the colleague sternly warned the witness not to utter a single word to anyone about the encounter, their exploration of the cave, or the beings they had seen.

Vietnam’s Son Doong Cave and the Soldiers’ Encounter

Son Doong Cave in Vietnam, recently discovered and recognized as the world’s largest cave, has also become associated with Reptilian narratives. Located on the Laos-Vietnam border, this massive cave system attracted significant attention when it was opened for tourist tours in 2013. However, it was closed to visitors again shortly after, following the disappearance of at least one tourist inside the cave, who was never found.

Concurrent with this incident, unsettling reports began to surface from other tourists who had visited the cave. Some claimed to have seen mysterious, reptilian-like humanoid creatures lurking in the darkness within the cave’s depths. It was also reported that local people had encountered these beings, which they referred to as “devil creatures,” on numerous occasions. According to descriptions, these were beings with human-like bodies but whose skin and faces resembled those of a dragon or lizard.

A few years ago, a retired soldier who had served in the region contacted a journalist researching the topic. The soldier compiled his personal experiences into three emails and sent them to the journalist. He mentioned that rumors of such anomalous encounters were widespread in Vietnam, particularly in other parts of Indochina.

The retired soldier (referred to as Cenge) stated in his testimony that he served as a Corporal in the US Army in 1970. His unit was stationed in South Vietnam, in an area called Le Mzi, about 30 km south of the Laos border. At the time, he was the second-in-command of a small squad within his unit. One evening, his platoon, including himself, was ordered to conduct a patrol from the western camp into the nearby small valleys. The squad, led by a Staff Sergeant, set out to execute the order.

Upon entering one of the long, narrow valleys, they detected movement ahead. The activity seemed scattered and disorganized, initially leading them to suspect enemy soldiers. They took cover among the trees and tall bushes, observing for about half an hour. Although the moon was bright that night, there wasn’t enough light to determine exactly what was happening. After the activity ahead ceased for a while, the squad cautiously moved forward along the valley.

As they approached a steep cliff face at the end of the valley, they saw that someone or something had piled large stones and boulders across the passage ahead. Above this pile, they noticed a cave entrance, about 1.5 meters (5 feet) high and 1 meter (3 feet) wide, narrowing towards the top. Observing the passage more closely, they saw that the edges of the cave entrance were smooth, as if carved with small, double-spaced grooves. Having previously seen similar structures only in Viet Cong underground tunnels, they suspected this might also be an enemy hiding place or a supply cache. For this reason, the Sergeant decided they had to investigate the cave.

It was at this point that things started to get strange. The soldiers began to notice a strong odor of decay emanating from the cave entrance. Comparing it to the many foul smells they had encountered on the battlefield, they realized it smelled like rotten eggs and decaying human flesh. The stench was so nauseating and pungent that several soldiers felt sick and retreated back towards the forest. However, the Sergeant, Corporal Cenge, and a few other soldiers approached the entrance again, hoping to observe something, shining flashlights towards the opening. But it was impossible to see anything inside; they had no idea what lay within.

To conduct adequate surveillance and prepare for a potential attack, the entire squad took up positions about 45 meters back from the entrance. As they quietly tried to listen, they heard muffled growling sounds coming from a distance. Yet, the jungle was strangely quiet. The Sergeant sat near Cenge, muttering to himself, his fear evident. The other soldiers scanned their surroundings with frightened eyes.

A few hours later, dawn was approaching, and the soldiers were ready to move. The Sergeant checked his watch; it was almost 5 AM. At that very moment, movement appeared in front of the cave. A figure – which they initially thought was a man – moved from the open area in front of the cave towards the entrance. It stood up, reaching a height of at least 2 meters (6.5 feet), and began scanning the area where the soldiers were positioned. Then, another similar-looking creature emerged from the cave. Both creatures looked towards the soldiers and began to hiss, making sounds like they originated from hell.

Corporal Cenge described these beings as looking like lizards standing on two legs. Their skin was almost black, shiny, and scaly. They had very large, lamp-like eyes and reptilian faces. Although they had a humanoid structure, their arms, legs, and entire bodies were covered in scaly skin. They had no tails. They wore dark, helmet-like coverings on their heads and long, one-piece, dark green garments. Their feet were bare and clawed.

Without any orders being given, in that brief instant, the entire squad instinctively opened fire repeatedly on the creatures. Every piece of vegetation between them and the creatures was shredded by bullets. At that moment, the Sergeant ordered “Cease fire!” When the firing stopped, there was nothing there. The soldiers immediately formed a defensive perimeter and checked their surroundings, but found nothing. They waited warily at the cave entrance for a long time, but realized the creatures had fled, most likely retreating back into the cave.

Upon closer inspection of the area near the entrance, they found fragmented human bodies and a large quantity of bones. Deciding to eliminate the possibility of the creatures emerging again, they decided to destroy the cave entrance and sealed it with explosives.

Back at camp, everyone was in shock. There was a brief discussion about whether or not to report the incident. Eventually, the Sergeant prepared a detailed incident report. However, according to Cenge, this report either never reached the higher echelons or, if it did, was ignored.

What brought this incident back into the spotlight years later was not the reports from missing tourists or locals, but rather a photograph allegedly taken by another tourist deep inside the cave. In the photo, the silhouette of an indistinct reptilian creature can be discerned in the darkness upon careful examination. The person who took the photo claimed that the creature appeared suddenly and retreated very quickly into the deeper parts of the cave. Perhaps those creatures, descendants or kin of the beings Cenge and his squad encountered, are still there, dwelling somewhere in the unexplored depths of Son Doong Cave. Who knows?

Final Thoughts

The narratives surrounding Reptilians and their alleged presence in the subterranean world offer a fascinating intersection of modern conspiracy theories and ancient legends. The claims of global control popularized by figures like David Icke, combined with chilling accounts of cave encounters from vastly different geographies like Missouri, Australia, and Vietnam, paint a picture that both terrifies and intrigues the human mind.
