Ya Hannanu Entallathee Wasi’ta Kulla Shay-in Rahmatan wa ‘Ilman Allahumma Innee As-aluka An Tusakhkhiralee Khuddama Hadhihis-Suratish-Shareefati Bi Haqqi Man Qala La Ilaha Illallah Muhammadun Rasulullah.

Meaning:

O Most Compassionate (Hannan)! O You Who encompass all things in mercy and knowledge! O Allah, I indeed ask You to subjugate for me the servants of this noble Surah for the sake of the one who said, “There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”

Requesting Help From The Servants

After the covenant is made, it is narrated that whenever there is a need (hajat), by reciting Surah Al-Ikhlas once and saying, “Ya Abdullah, come to me!” Abdullah will immediately be present and, along with the other angels, will assist in fulfilling any legitimate desire.

Surah Al-Ikhlas Invitation Like Kibrit-i Ahmer (Second Method – Narration Of Khawaja Muhammad Al-Maghribi)

This method is narrated from Khawaja Muhammad Al-Maghribi and is another invitation technique that reveals the “Kibrit-i Ahmer” (most potent) qualities of Surah Al-Ikhlas.

Preparation And Intention

This practice begins on a Thursday. The primary intention is to benefit from the spiritual power of this blessed Surah for the sake of Allah.

Daily And Nightly Readings

• Recite Surah Al-Ikhlas 1001 times daily, along with its Azimah (a specific conjuration or plea) which will be provided below.
• Every night, wake up and perform a two-rak’ah prayer for the sake of Allah. After the prayer, recite Surah Al-Ikhlas 100 times again, along with its Azimah.

The Place Of Salawat Sharif (Blessings On The Prophet)

Recite Salawat Sharif 12 times before starting the reading and 12 times after finishing it.

The Certainty And Conditions Of Response To The Invitation

Continue this practice until the angels who are trustees of Surah Al-Ikhlas respond to the invitation. It is stated in sources that this invitation will definitely be answered, and there should be no doubt about it. However, there is a very important condition: one must never speak to anyone during the reading and must read in a secluded place (halwat).

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Say: He is Allah, the One. Respond, O Jibril (Gabriel), hearing and obeying, for the sake of Ya Budduh (believed to be a name of Allah or an angel)! Allah, the Eternal Refuge. Respond, O Mikail (Michael), hearing and obeying, for the sake of Ya Basit (The Expander, Allah)! He neither begets nor is born. Respond, O Israfil (Raphael), hearing and obeying, for the sake of Ya Allah! Nor is there to Him any equivalent. Respond, O Azrail (Azrael), hearing and obeying, for the sake of Ya Rahman (The Most Gracious), by Your Mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful!

Intensive Riyazat For Friendship With The Trustees Of Surah Al-Ikhlas (Third Method)

This invitation requires a more intensive riyazat for those who wish to establish a deeper spiritual friendship with the angels who are trustees of Surah Al-Ikhlas.

Seven-Day Halwat And Fasting

1. Halwat and Commencement: On Saturday, perform the morning prayer in a secluded place (halwat) and remain in that seclusion until the following Friday.
2. Riyazat Fasting: Observe a riyazat fast for these seven days (eating little, abstaining from animal products).
3. Abstinence from Worldly Talk: Absolutely no worldly conversation is allowed.
4. Constant Purity (Taharah): Perform ghusl daily and always maintain a state of complete purity (taharat-i kamila).

Dhikr And Supplication

Recite Surah Al-Ikhlas 1000 times after each obligatory prayer. After finishing the recitation, recite the supplication provided below once.

The Manifestation Of Angels And Etiquette Of Greeting

According to narrations, on Thursday night, by the command of Allah, three angels will come, their faces luminous, themselves luminous, and radiating light around them. When they give salam (“As-salamu ‘alayka ya Abdullah”), one should not look directly at their faces but turn one’s gaze elsewhere. Stand up with reverence and respect and receive their greetings by saying, “Wa ‘alaykum as-salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.” Respond to whatever the angels say with great reverence and immediately accept any conditions they impose. It is emphasized that such spiritual experiences may occur only once in a lifetime.

I indeed ask You by the Meem of Dominion (Mulk) and the Heavenly Realm (Malakut), the Laam of Gentleness (Lutf), the Haa of Forbearance (Hilm) and Wisdom (Hikmah), the Qaaf of Power (Qudrah), the Waaw of The Loving (Al-Wadud) and Sainthood/Friendship (Wilayah), the Haa of Guidance (Hidayah), the Noon of Growth (Numuww) and Stillness (Sukoon), the Faa of Fidelity (Wafa), the Saad of Truthfulness (Sidq) and Sincerity, the Jeem of Beauty (Jamal), the Haa of Forbearance, the ‘Ayn of Knowledge (‘Ilm), the Yaa of Wakefulness (Yaqazah) and Certainty (Yaqeen), to subjugate for me the helpers and servants entrusted with the noble names in this Surah. Indeed, You are over all things competent. O He Who, when He intends a thing, only says to it, “Be,” and it is! So Exalted is He in Whose Hand is the dominion of all things, and to Him you will be returned.

The Worldly And Hereafter Gains Of This Practice

It is stated that at the end of these seven days of patience and practice, one will attain happiness in this world and the Hereafter, and everything created by Allah Almighty will become obedient to the person. It is mentioned that the commentary on this subject is much more extensive but has been summarized here.

Surah Al-Ikhlas Invitation To Attain Sainthood (Karamat) (Fourth Method)

If a person desires to become a person of karamat (saintly miracles), to have their spiritual insight (heart’s eye) opened, or to perform extraordinary acts such as flying in the air or tayy al-makan (traversing great distances instantaneously), this method is recommended.

Forty-Day Halwat And Dedication

1. Halwat and Abstinence from Haram: Enter a secluded place and meticulously avoid all that is forbidden (haram).
2. Reading Schedule: For forty days, recite Surah Al-Ikhlas 1000 times after each of the five daily prayers.
3. Salawat Sharif: Recite Salawat Sharif 12 times before and after the reading.
4. Reading in One Sitting: Each set of one thousand recitations must be completed in a single sitting, without getting up from one’s place.

Conditions For Sainthood/Miracles (Karamat)

The fundamental conditions for achieving the promised spiritual gains at the end of this practice are:

• Never Telling Lies: Purifying the tongue from all forms of falsehood.
• Performing Prayers on Time: Not missing prayers and performing them as soon as their time begins.
• Dietary Abstinence (Perhiz): Not consuming animal products (meat, milk, eggs, etc.) or things derived from animals.

If one perseveres for forty days adhering to these conditions, it is stated that the person will become an individual of karamat, all creatures, jinn, and humans will become obedient to them, nothing will be able to harm them by the command of Allah Almighty, and they will attain all kinds of saintly miracles. It is emphasized that there should be no doubt in this matter, as Surah Al-Ikhlas is considered Ism-i Azam (the Greatest Name of Allah).

The Form To Be Written And Recited

Additionally, it is recommended to write Surah Al-Ikhlas with musk and saffron, carry it on one’s person, and recite it. The form to be recited 1000 times after each prayer (likely Surah Al-Ikhlas with an added supplication or phrase at the end) is as follows:

Important Notes For The Success Of Invitations

The invitations of Surah Al-Ikhlas carry great spiritual potential but are practices that require attention and dedication. For success, the following points should always be kept in mind:

• Sincerity of Intention: As with all deeds, the intention in invitations must be solely for the pleasure of Allah. Practices done for worldly gain or to harm others will not only be fruitless but may also lead to spiritual harm.
• Patience and Consistency: Spiritual results may not appear immediately. It is important to continue the practices patiently and regularly.
• Abstinence from Sins: Just as during halwat and riyazat, one must meticulously avoid sins, especially major sins, in general life.
• Lawful Sustenance (Halal Lokma): Ensuring that the food consumed is lawful (halal) is a fundamental condition for spiritual ascent.
• Guidance of a Competent Spiritual Guide (Murshid): If possible, before embarking on such profound spiritual practices, it is best to seek permission (ijazah) and advice from a competent and trustworthy spiritual guide (murshid-i kamil). This helps to protect against possible incorrect practices and spiritual dangers.

Final Word

Surah Al-Ikhlas is a blessed Surah that expresses the Oneness and Majesty of Allah in the most eloquent way, opening great spiritual effusions and doors when recited. The invitation practices formed around this Surah are part of an ancient tradition and have the potential to elevate a person to spiritual ranks when performed with sincerity and according to the proper method. However, it must not be forgotten that such paths require great seriousness, dedication, and above all, deep submission to Allah. All good and success come only from Allah.
